About

I am an esoteric painter based in Lawrence, Kansas. My artwork features mystical animal guides and metaphysical symbolism. 

My artist journey began in kindergarten with crayons, which led to painting lessons at eleven, and ultimately to advanced art classes throughout high school and college. During the pandemic, my work became an emotional lifeline as I revitalized my studio practice and began to teach painting lessons online to high schoolers. I now show my work in local small businesses, participate in community markets, and host creative workshops with a grassroots art collective.

Animals have been my primary and favorite subjects since the beginning and remain so to this day. My work honors their dignity, and my love for animals empowers every work I create.

Pet Portrait Commissions

I love capturing the beauty and individuality of the dogs and cats we share home with. I believe these types of bonds are some of the closest connections that can be shared. For that reason, it is always a huge honor for me to be trusted with the portrait of a cherished animal companion. Absolutely no AI is ever used in any painting or portrait I create. All work is 100% hand crafted with love.

Artist Statement

This work is born from the enmeshment of my spiritual practice and my creative practice, both of which center the sanctity of animals, storytelling, and Spirit. My relationship with the divine plays an active, collaborative role in the painting process as I translate symbols received through visions, dreams, and prayer into the work. My influences include animal archetypes, animism, folklore, mythology, and animal rights.

These paintings call attention to what is forgotten: When it comes to all the species of the Earth, humanity is only one spoke in a great wheel. The wheel will continue to turn with or without our interference. Earth’s animal inhabitants have always been here, and many will remain and return after we are gone. This truth gives me hope for the future in the face of the senseless violence surrounding us, and I share this hope with all who view my work. In this way, my work is a love letter from a member of humanity to all Earthlings, an outward acknowledgement of their inherent worth and of a greater force beyond ourselves.
